p.1 #1 · HUGE prints

Who do you recommend for huge prints, bigger then 40" wide (foam board mounted or canvas wrap)?

Not necessarily the cheapest, but the best value & quality.

Thanks my fellow crazy photo nuts

whcc for the large prints mounted on foam board. simply canvas for the wraps. I haven't ordered a canvas from whcc yet.

Both great places, but I'm looking for just a bit bigger then 40" wide. Say up up to 72".

WHCC stops at 30x40 for wraps and stand outs.
MPIX stops at 24x36 for wraps and stand outs at 20x30.

If you use WHCC, they can do 30" high by nearly unlimited width (they say 45"+) for $5.50 sq/ft for a glossy or matte print. You'd have to do the foam board yourself, but it would give you your seamless monster print.

For canvas, simplycanvas.com is one we've had good results with and can go up to 56"x120"

Canvasondemand.com does fairly large ones. They don't have a laminate gloss finish, so it isn't as rich, but quality is great.

I have had wonderful results from Imagekind.com

I have printed several stretched canvasses which turned out as good as MPIX and two large fine-art prints (48"x30") which were amazing.

I haven't tried anyone else yet.

Gotta agree with jdpage, hard to beat Imagekind.com. I'm a member & their prints are done using Epson printers and I hear nothing but good feedback on them. They print at 1440 dpi.

Simply Canvas (simplycanvas.com) is the only way to go for large canvas prints. Any size imaginable and the best quality bar none. I have personally tested every format, medium and substrate available for canvas and Simply does it best.

For photo prints I recommend Color Inc. www.colorincprolab.com

Elcocolor offers large prints that simply can't be beat in terms of quality and cost. They have a section called "internet only specials" where you can find large poster-sized prints. If you order less than a certain dollar amount, the shipping is a bit pricey, but the quality is worth it. I got a 20x30 metallic sports print from them that was just superb. And I believe they offer mounting as well.

The guy that does my printing just purchased a new printer that will print up to 50". I haven't seen anything yet he's done, but once I know it's awesome, I'll send some info to the forum. I'm very happy with what they do for me in my regular prints and albums. Yvette
