Great processing. Great image. Just not a fan of the crop. I would like to see more on the top. I feel it was cut a little tight at the top. The negative space on the sides don't do anything for the image IMO.

Looks good, and nice lighting. I suppose your intent with the crop was to force us to concentrate on the eyes to mouth area and keep the eyes higher in the frame.

I had different shots ( crops) of the guy.
Here is one with slightly different processing
It is OK but I think the first one is to the point

Thanks Jim, that is exactly what I tried to achieve with the very tight crop.

Thanks, it is not tone mapped, but I did use just a touch of Lucisart on this.
It is just about one tenth of the lowest setting in Wyeth,

I really like the second shot better, I didn't like the way you cut off his chin in the first one or it would have been good. The processing is very good, my first thought was a tired trainworker not wanting to put up with any crap.

Great shots, overall I like the second shot more. Not so much for the framing, but the eyes look more natural to me. There is so much going on in the eyes here. Awesome! Love the processing too

The framing on the second shot is better but his eyes are more relaxed and the catchlight is not as well developed as compared to the first one. I like the look of your processing!

This image speaks to me - the whole composition is very well done. Color, saturation detail, cropping. I like the tight crop-nothing missing for me, it just leaves some mystery - like the log on his cap say, I am wondering. This is an unusual, memorable face - what a story there must be there. I just looked at a model lying in the mud - I didn't get it.

In the first one it sorta looks like his lower eyelids (just around his eyes) are pinker than the rest of his skin. Sorta makes him look like those miners who get dust everywhere except around their eyes...

I do realize that the two different crops give you different feeling of the person, but I posted the tighter crop first since that is the effect I was after, the ice like stare.
