p.1 #1 · The Renaissance Center - Detroit, Mich.

Here are a few shots that I got over the weekend while helping out with the CCHA Fan Fest in downtown Detroit.

There were done with my first attempts at trying out a trial version of Light Room. For me the jury is still out on whether or not I want to get the software. At only $99 as a student price, it is making it hard to pass up. So we shall see in the next few weeks if I end up buying it or not.

1. Winter Garden Atrium

this is at least the second time in a row something I have posted has not been commented on. I know that the images may not be the best, but that's why i am posting them to get help and some input from the better more pro photog's in the forum. So please some input would be appreciated....

Brett, dont take it personally if no one comments of your photos in here, I know how it can be. I do like to second one best, I think the black and white does it well. The first one is a good image, well composed, but doesnt do a whole lot for me.

Oh I don't take it personal, it's just a matter of seeking help if there is any needed, and noone taking the time to offer up anything. It's just frustrating more than anything else.

Thank you for your comments. I downloaded the trial version of CS3 yesterday, and I am going to try and convert the first image to B/W later today. I will repost that later today or tomorrow.

Hi Brett, I notice that you like to line up to the center of the triangle in both your photos, while I personally dig it, it can also be limiting and sometimes I find it good to move around and play outside the lines and see if something interesting comes up. As for the second one, I would over-expose the building a stop or so to bring it out more, now you might not want to do it for the black interior. so, in CS3, I would try a levels layer to bump up the exposure and mask the side triangles, see how that changes the photo.
