Something just seems off to me about this shot... i dont know if its just because i've been staring at it to long or what but any suggestions on what you like or dislike about this would be great.
Consider removing the right quarter or fifth of the image in order to put more emphasis onto the sunset and get the centre of interest away from the centre of the image. The buildings on the right tend to be a distraction anyway.
Perhaps also trim a tad off the bottom to get the horizon away from the centre. In essence I'm suggesting a return to the old rule of thirds.
I agree with Alan. too much on the right. Cropping will also leave a pleasant "point" of the water into the darker hillside. On my work monitor (take with grain of salt) water appears too saturated.
Scott
I agree with Alan and Scott, cropping the right side a bit, and desaturating the water will help. The color of the water makes it look unnatural. It also appears to me that the horizon dips to the right, perhaps straightening that out will make it look not "off".
Nice sunset, I love the rays coming up from the sun!
what do you guys think of this adjustment?
thanks for the suggestion on removing the buildings...i guess that was distracting from what the focus was on. i turned down saturation in the blue channel as well... i think over saturating it at first was the uneasy feeling about the photo i was having. thanks for all the help
