Question for any Feisol owners/users out there: I'm looking for a stable tripod for use with a 1DMkII & 100-400 lens. Would the Feisol 3401/3301 with Markins M10 be solid and stable under that load?
i would advise the CT-3342/CT-3442 series over those. better design more rigid and higher quality CF in addition to the all alloy couplings vs the polymer ones used on 3401/3301
I had a 3401 tripod (for ~1 week, purchased new, then returned), and still own their 1401 monopod. Sorry, but the leg locks are just crap; all plastic, hard to lock down, and in just a few days a few of the inner friction rings had broken. I was able to save the monopod using modified nylon rings from plumbing compression fittings (thanks, Home Depot). Their new stuff might be better, but I've got no hands-on.
