WOW! Love this one and you have some competition with Tom on #44: Transco Blue. I'm not sure on the contrast yet since I'm on my notebook PC and the calibration is not the same as my desktop, but great find.
This shot has a very computer generated quality to it, in a good way. Almost like it was created as a set for a movie. The bands of light break the symmetry in fantastic way!
The only thing I'd improve on is getting rid of some of that upper part, maybe cutting 2/3rds of the top bar off would make it less distracting. I think that would draw me towards the blue water at the end even more.
Thanks guys! I appreciate all the input. To be honest, I am not too sure about the contrast either...The way it looks on my screen seems to be different here and there. I tried to get this one printed just to see how it looked and it came out all weird. I guess I need to invest in a huey. Funny what you said about it looking like it was created for a movie set. After I got home from taking the picture and looked at it on my computer, it immediately reminded me of that movie The 5th Element, ha.
Hi Brian! I think it's super! Perfect fit for the MA, and the only critique I have is the same as Andrew's. Crop away some of the top and it's a winner!
Just noticed that you did go with the cropped version. Great! The strength of this composition reminds me of photos from Tom Mackie's _Photos with Impact_. It's worth looking up if you haven't seen it.
