Are you serious? Not me. If there is indeed a D3 whatever, it probably won't be available for months. One day makes no difference. How long did we wait for the D2X to hit the shelves?
I'm staying up to study for a test and will be checking during my "breaks". I hope the announcement doesn't come to early, might not get much studying done.
Well, I get to work all night (someone has to keep the electricity on), and my company was kind enough to grant us internet access a while ago. Lucky me - if I remember to look I can be among the first to know! Of course, I'm not sure I'll be willing to part with the cash for one, but you never know. Then I get to sleep all day while you all work. What a deal!
These 18MP, Full-Figured D3 rumors aren't putting lead in my pencil. I have a long way to go before I master the gear I already have.
I've actually been distracted this afternoon by Leica M8 images over on Flickr. I came across a few Noctilux 50mm f/1.0 photos that just knocked my socks off. Sometimes I enjoy looking at that artsy stuff.
If I had $8K to spend on gear right now, which I don't, I probably wouldn't buy a D3, but would instead get something completely different and quirky, like a MF film kit, or an M8 and a few old lenses for a street-shooting / travel kit.
If you are waiting for a exciting product release from Nikon, you might as well go to bed tonight because they probably won't release anything until 2009.
