Anyone use this for indoor basketball? If so how does the lens perform?

I asked a similar question not too long ago and I got basically no response. Ask the same question about the Canon 135L in the Canon forum and it's a three page thread at least. It makes wonder why Nikon shooters are slow or reluctant to share photos/opinions of the presumed great 85 1.4 or the 135 2.0. I'd really like to see a response to the OP's original question.

Our 'go to' lense for Basketball/volleyball is the 85 f1.8 it is just the right focal length for great side line shots of break aways in Bball and spikes at the net in Volleyball, and at 1.8 it works in atrocious light.

I can't speek for the 135 directly... but I can say that the 105 f2 is out standing!! I absolutely love this lens...focus speed would certainly not be much of an issue on a D2 (or D1) body... The f2 max apperature is great in low light (I use it a lot for concert photography), and allows you to separate the subject from the back ground. With the DC you can separate the subject even more, or give it an "infrared like" glowing quality... I like the lens a lot, but you should try some shots on one if you are able to to see for your self...

Great lens for indoor. I use it for indoor climbing events and have great results. Only the autofocus isn't that fast. The performance is great at 2.0
