I haven't posted in a while since I've been busy learning how to fly fish. But had my camera with me a few days ago and came across this ol' fly fisherman working on his fly. I had to crop this quite a bit as I didn't have my long lens with me.
I have caught a couple so far but on midges with a split shot and strike indicator. However, I'm heading out to Missoula, MT Sept 17-21 to fish with an ol' high school friend that works for the BLM out there. He's been fly fishing the area for 20 years.
He lives a mile from the Bitterroot River and we plan on floating it with a drift boat one day.
Another close friend from the Navy will also be there at the same but will be up near Polson, MT. He's flying in with his wife from San Diego in his Bonanza and said he'd fly down to pick me up and fish another day where ever else!
I can't sleep at night thinking about it.
Now I just have to figure out how to get a D100 and a Nikon 80-400 in a fishing vest and keep it dry!!! I guess no one has figured out how to make a Nikon DSLR/fly rod combination yet.
