Do you think that certain characteristics of the person should be "hidden" more or should we be capturing them as how they really are?
Yeah, getting used to exposure, will work on that... thanks!
Depends, are we doing portraits, capturing the best of a person, or photo journalism?
I like the candid feel of the shots. It doesn't feel forced like this can sometimes be. You do need to remember that there are some sides you can just omit, it doesn't need to be on display. You also need to work on your exposure/color balance. It isn't always about the whites, try and get the skin tones nice, they will care less about how white the dress is if they aren't yellow. Solid showing, just keep it all in mind, also check your monitor and if you can't afford to calibrate, know its weaknesses and as a final step correct for your monitor (mine's a tad green and a hair cool right now, I have a preset that corrects for it until I can afford one of those things).

I would say this is a portrait of how the person truely appears... we shot without limitations.
Thanks for explaining the color though, that does make sense. So it's not about the color of the dress but more of the color of the subject's skin..?
Take the first one. I looked at it and though that I didnt like her expression that much but the exposure was ok and I thought that the colour was nice on that one. Then in Number 3, her face is really quite dark and this causes shadows to collect around the underneath of her cheeks etc and isnt so flattering to her and makes colour a bit heavy.
No 2 I think you should drop because it looks a bit like you have caught her as she was blinking or something like that, its not working.
11 has some background clutter which could have been removed.
Favourites are 12 and 13
The closing shot has some fairly hard flash on it which hasnt been flattering to her complexion.
