p.1 #1 · Are these Rokkor lenses worth converting?

I am on vacation visiting my family and just found a few lenses that I used to use on my Minolta X-570. Since I don't do much (or any) film slr shooting anymore, I was wondering if any of these lenses might be worth converting to EOS? Nothing exotic...

Anyway, the lenses are...

Sigma 16mm fisheye
Minolta 28/2.8
Minolta 50/1.7
Minolta 35-70/3.5

The one I'm mainly interested in hearing about is the 35-70/3.5.

Any thoughts?

Maybe if you are handy with DIY, but not if you have to pay someone to do it. Generally, none are really anything special per se...

but a fun project if nothing else! ;-)

The 35-70mm is pretty good (I thought you would know since you had a X-570?). Conversion is very simple so it may be worth a try. I like it and indeed prefer it over my zuiko 35-70mm f3.6. Which version of the 35-70 do you have?

Thanks for the replies. I have used the 35-70 before, but it has been a few years. And when I used it, I was much less critical of lenses in general (high school photography class). I'm not sure of the version, but I do know that it is not the macro.

Anyway, I probably won't convert them if they're nothing special...just a thought!

I don't know anything about the Minolta 35-70, but a gentle reminder about the C/Y 35-70 3.4 Macro in that focal length. A best lens on

Thanks for the response. I was really just asking since I had them lying around and don't really have any interest in purchasing a room in that range.

It looks like I have the MD Rokkor-X version of the lens, which according to debuggerus is the "1st" version?

that 35-70mm 3.5 is a fine lens if its the original 2 touch zoom. its basically a slow prime.

the 50mm 1.7 is good too, although I have the 28mm i couldn't tell you i hardly use it.

i have all three of those lenses

I don't know if you have seen it, but this is the review of the 28mm f/2.8 at the Rokkor files:

It seems like it may be a decent lens. Probably not a lot different from the 35mm f/1.8 that you sold me, but obviously a lot slower.
