Trying to get back to posting more. Been hella-busy. Check out my clients, Jamie and Holly. Great weather this weekend in the D. Comments, praise, hate mail, Modern Warefare2 challenges all accepted. TIA.
I really like #4... probably not going to be their top pick for a print since they're so tiny in it, but something about this one grabs me. Cycling dude is a nice touch.
5 is a nice moment, light, processing, but it's got an awful lot of empty space. maybe crop in from top left?
6 has some sweet color and a nice urban feel to it.
8 might be cool if you went overboard with the greens / purples? Canvas print, mm? And get that pillar vertical - it's just a hair off.
Don't really understand shots like #11, personally.
12 is really nice, I would just do some fine-tuning of the shadows and highlights with the adjustment brush just to bring back in a little extra detail (the foreground shadows and the highlights on their faces)
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Sam, I never really saw Detroit as scary. I know the neighborhoods to avoid and all, but I guess when you're from here you just get the benefit of seeming like a badass for not being afraid. That said, these were all taken in the theater and stadium district, so real seediness. I think the back focus you are seeing might just be a combo of a touch of general softness do to my shaky focus and recompose combined with a little web compression (didn't sharpen for web, oh noooz!). I'll be checking the files though.
Kurtis, truly appreciate the in-depth feedback. It is always nice and appreciated when someone takes the time. Yeah, I knew that 11 would have a TON of fans :-). I looooooove negative space, so you win me over for 5. Otherwise, Thanks for the insight.
