My wife and I received an invitation to her cousin's wedding in Syracuse, NY a couple of months ago. We initially thought about shooting her wedding for her as a gift...but then decided we had too many other committments and couldn't attend.
The wedding was last weekend and my wife's sister attended. When she arrived back in town I asked her who the pro photographer was they had hired.
"Jasmine Star", she said..."Have you heard of her?".

is it just me, but none of her work seems to jump out and grab me?
those images are good, im sure any wedding photographer would have done just a good a job, i just dont know what makes her so special
I've read comments like this a gazillion times on this forum.
The pretty annoying thing is that if her photos had the name of one of the 5-6 shooters here who consistently make the massess swoon the comments would all be about hitting stuff out of the park.
I'm not singling you out by the way... there is nothing particularly wrong with your comment.
FWIW I've seen a few videos of her in action and read some stuff about her.
The bottom line is that:
1. she is undoubtedly a talented photographer
2. she is an even MORE talented marketer
3. she is VERY GOOD at connecting with brides (I'm sure it doesn't hurt that she's a chick)
4. she is VERY GOOD at keeping the guys interested (I'm sure it doesn't hurt that she's pretty hot)
Bottom line, she deserves nothing but kudos.
I will never be a chick so I can't hope to match her in 3 and 4 but I would gladly take her mix of skills over stronger photography skills paired with lesser marketing skills.
Then again my goal in life is mostly to put food on the table... wether I end up in the Louvre in 300 years or not is pretty irrelevant to me
Wow, didn't realize so many people would be off-put by an observational comment. I didn't mean it in any offensive way it was merely an observation.
I don't see how saying an accomplished photographer is not all that is acceptable yet commenting on how thin a person in observational view is tabooed.
