Your diffuser is working really well mate. So much details considering how shiny this beetle is, specially in the last two shots. Too bad about the bad condition of the leaf but nothing you can do about it.

These beetles seem a lot larger that the 'little' lady bugs we get here waaay down south. The highlights don't appear fully blown as there is still visible detail in the images. . . imho.

Excellent, mate. Hard as hector to expose something that shiny. The highlights are nicely translucent...tells me your diffuser is doing a pretty darn good job.

Re detail, I've been pulling back on the saturation since reading recently too much red blows detail. And it is so, icydk. You can 'know' a thing for an age before you 'realise' it.
I also found the kind of detail in the red of the shell was being 'cleaned' in Neat Image (noise reduction). So much to consider.
