p.1 #1 · Oof Leaves

Hey all,

This one was a total accident, I was wearing some gloves so with out the dexterity I didn't tighten the tripod head. What you see here is movement over a 30 second exposure.

Fallen black oak tree leaves covered in frost.

Santa Monica Mountains, California

Here is one with less contrast

and one with more contrast

If anyone has any preferences, I would love to hear them.

Hey Steve,

What a cool accident. I can't wait to see TripleYYY's response this is Y's cup ot tea!

I think I prefer #1 here. I think it makes the streak more a part of the shot. With the higher contrast it seperates the leaves from the streak more, so that it looks like 2 seperate shots rather then one.

Very very cool shot! I think my preference would be somewhere between the two. On screen, the first looks very nice. However, it might appear a bit flat in print. The contrast will help the print a bit.

Hi Steve,

Very fine blurred abstract. Interesting colors, too. I like it.

#2 is my preference - it looks like a blend of 2 images!

Very cool result, Steve. And, I agree with Jim. Much like a technique that Y might employ.

Cheers,

Awesome, Steve! I think I would like a contrast amount somewhere between one and two.

Well I almost missed this one. But with OOF in the title, I had to look.

I love happy accidents....when they turn out like this.

The first one has nice pastel colour, the light streaks are nice....almost like shooting though a thin curtain or with light rays.

The second one, has a bit to much contrast for my taste. However it makes me think of adding a texture layer to the leaves. So this one works on that level...although I would have still used a little less contrast so that the texture is not quite so over powering.

Nice miss, as we say on the golf ourse . I like the contrast of the 2nd shot better. It looks like a double exposure of the leaves and some canyon rock.

Thanks guys, It's possible it could be done again but I doubt in the first try and I could give after about 20 tries so who knows.

I'll have to play around w/ a version inbetween the two.

thanks again.

I like both. I wish my accidents would turn out this nicely!

The first one is almost wistful. The second almost looks like the image of the leaves is superimposed on a shot of a slice of fir tree.

Cool stuff.
