Has anyone had any experience operating an R2880 via a Mac with a wireless connection? Do anyone know whether this is a reasonable option?

I just finished setting up & testing my R2880 and I don't think it's possible from what I read researching it. There isn't a networking option when installing it, just dual USB ports. You can download the manual, quick start guide, and brochure from the Epson site.

you could try to use the Apple Airport Express which gives remote/wireless USB capability.
