Hi dubaiphil, sorry for late reply - I was too busy with leading my first Photo-Walk last week. If you visit Ha-Noi, the best place to stay is in the Old Quarter, where I often stayed and took the pictures above. Just for fun, one day I spent most of my time sitting around in front of my hotel, taking pictures of many street vendors walking by, either on their feet or ride bicycle - to sell their wares. Those scenes plus many old houses building will be gone forever soon or later, thanks to the modernization & progressive in society. You can go to the oldest house on 87 Ma May street in that Old Quarter area, where you pay 25cent equivalent for a ticket to get inside and take picture. I will upload some pix when I have time.
