zach

really liking groom shot #8-i've also noticed your reception dance stuff lately with flash coming from below them-curious: what are you doing there (i.e., 14 & 15)?

Edit: oh yeah, forgot about #12-not too shabby, either

Looks good. Your work really shines with off camera lighting.

Stuff I liked:
-All the grooms shots were BA. Very nice. I really like the idea of #10

Stuff I didn't:
-Watch your shadows. The black levels are too heavy in a lot of these in my opinion. I think you should sharpen for web as well.

Love the lightig work - high class stuff! Love #6!

I do agree that the black levels are high, however, I actually like deep blacks ad high contrast. Good work all around!

I like the composition in #6.

Not a big fan of the ring shot - it actually looks like the jellybeans? are tainted with blood. not sure of the symbolism you're trying to illustrate there.

Haha -- I was about to say the opposite. They're the strawberry Jelly Bellies perhaps? I laugh about this shot because my first ring shot was in a bowl of M&Ms...

Oh -- I, too, am digging the lighting on the reception shots -- I would love to know what you do for those.

Do you use flash during getting ready shots? I've been on the line about this -- I like natural light for those shots, but I have been in some really, REALLY dingy rooms for getting ready. I would possibly consider using flash bounced behind me perhaps. Hmm... Maybe I'll start a thread.

None of these images are actually finals. These were just the small jpg's that were run during our slideshow at the wedding. There is no boost on shadow on any of these shots and I do a really generic jpg edit on these to get them up in about ten minutes during dinner. The finals will be like all of our other stuff. These were sharpened for web as usual so not sure what the deal is with that.

Thanks for the nice compliments!

These were simply Jelly Beans from there dessert table inside the scooper. I did not pick the Jelly Beans out.

Thanks for the nice compliments!

The reception shots are just an off camera light bounced off the floor.

We use flash whenever we need it. If there is bad light or not enough light for getting ready shots, then we will add some fill or use flash as the main light and the room as some fill. Whatever the room does not have, then we make up the difference.

Zach, when you quote someone's post, try to use the QUOTE button - that way you don't have to copy and paste their message and the original message is in a different color so we can see what you said vs what they said...

I like 6. Some of the indoor shots look a little inconsistent in way of WB. On purpose? Black and white dance stuff rocks as well.
