probably same price as before (it has to compete against Tamron's 28-75, though it does add HDM). Supposedly available in December (no clue if that's a real December or it's a "Tamron December"...aka, next year )
The good news is the redesigned it to be sharper for portraits instead of for landscapes as the original was. The bad news is it still has the giant 82mm filter which means filters will be bloody expensive
I bought a Tammy 28-75 a few months ago and love it... but I've had an HSM lens and know how much nicer it would be. As long at its $500 or less (eventually) and is good (not great) wide open, I'll be moving up...
