Kanching Recreational Forest, Malaysia is part of the 478ha of Kanching Forest Reserve. It offers a cool and relaxing environment besides being a sanctuary for birds and monkeys. This tourist attraction is an excellent place for picnicking and camping especially near its cascading waterfalls. The more popular spots among picnickers are the second and third levels, where the waterfalls end in spacious pools and bouldered streams. At the lower level, the torrents slow down into a calmer river, providing a safer place for children to take a dip. The recreational forest, a great hideout for a weekend getaway or a picnic, is well-known among the locals. The forest holds special appeal for nature lovers in search of peace and serenity in its waterfalls, which is definitely worth a visit....Show more →
1st needs some more processing as it is very hazy still, although the fg isnt that appealing to me. 2 is a very good 'park shot' showing the bridges and stuff. i see a very cool comp in there, below the bridge just isolating the 3 little falls
3 is very good. great lines, colors and exposure control. there's your winner
Very nice shots , Kien Huo . My preference is also for the third picture . The diagonal sweep of the waterfall is a powerful compositional element , and the jungle foliage sets off the whole scene very effectively . Well done !
the third is the best, more natural looking. #1 has a magenta cast and lacks some pp skills, #2 has a slight cyan cast but has better `depth` #3 spot on.
if you could make #1 like #3 then my opinion would change quickly
thanks for the comments. appreciate it!
agreed with parsons on the color cast after being pointed out!
the 3rd photo is also my fave
1st pic actually have my front filter fogged up due to the close proximity to the fall
@ MSC
all the photos are bracketed with 5 image of 2 stops max, they are then merged via photomatix and later more editing in photoshop
i find stock photomatix result is very flat
