Can you shoot the Canon G10 tethered the same way as the Canon dSLR’s like the 1DMKIII? Like displaying the photographs instantly through EOS Utility and ZOOM Browser.

Yes you can! It comes with all the software to shoot tethered.
I just bought a G10 to carry around with me and i'm really having fun with this camera.
Cris...
Cool, I thought about doing that but, after buying a 50D, removed the BG-E2 from my 40D and attached an EF 35 2.0 and, bam, a friggen pocket cam on 'iods. Feels like a tiny toy without the grip and 17-55 zoom but that was sorta the idea.
Now for the "yes, but" part.. Canon disables RAW shooting when tethered!!
I sent a request to Canon a few months ago asking then to enable "RAW when tethered" in the next firmware update and told them why I needed it. I actually received a reply, they thought it was an interesting application and would look into it.
