The expression on your face sets the mood of the shot in my opinion. I might consider some PP on the eye - looks like some flash or other light source is reflecting off your eye. I might also consider other PP on the right side of your face - could be a bit darker. What was your thought with this shot?

remember
thank you- the light source came from sun through a window and I did try to darken the right side as much as I could- I am learning and study expression and color tone on head shots- I did a black and white version-

My first thought on this one was that it looks like an evidence shot in a domestic violence case. That is some pretty severe post.

Hi Charlotte,

I remember.

Many years ago I did the similar "blow the photo exposure to white" look.

It is often one of the first "effects" that photographers want to emulate.

The key thing to learn is that there are "subtleties" to creating a highly effective image that is mostly "white." That takes some experiments (like you are doing) and some time to develop a sense of "liked it earlier, not liking it today." It takes some time. And of course it is a matter of personal taste.

Regarding this image, my eye was drawn to the dark area beneath the visible eye. This made me think of the "Lucky Strike" ads of years ago.

I hope these comments help and encourage you.

Steady

yes I did this shot last summer and was experimenting with the light light thing- I was just starting to work with photos light etc... you DO have a great eye and knowledge- I just found it in my files and threw it out to see if this had any art appeal to it- because I never did anything with the shot until now-
thanks for your great reply!!
