p.1 #1 · Canon 40D stuck on auto ISO

I posted previously about my 40D and 5D well today I noticed why I was getting weird exposure its stuck on auto ISO I do not have the manual so was wondering if someone could help me out on how to change this.

To my understanding auto ISO only would come on in the green pre programmed mode but its showing up as ISO Auto for all mode like TV AV even M. I'm hoping this is a easy fix and just some setting in the menus but have not been able to find it. does this sound normal at all?

ISO 400 is the standard ISO selected when in auto mode. Have you tried changing the ISO settings when in one of the creative modes(Av, Tv etc)? On the 40D the standard ISO settings are Auto, 100, 200, 400 etc so it's easy to set the ISO into auto mode instead of a specific ISO value by mistake...

yes I've tried in TV and AV also M mode but its still sets to auto not 400 but a lower ISO 200 or 100 just wondering if this is normal because every other camera I've owned 1D IIN and 5D as well as 20D would always let you set the ISO to what you desired.

I sold the 40D today on ebay and was testing it out taking a photo of a flash I wanted to sell and noticed this for the 1st time. I do not want the new owner saying its broken and having to deal with the hassle of them returning it to me if indeed something is a miss. I would rather take it to Canon and have them fix whatever is wrong before sending it out or reselling if something is wrong with it but this sounds normal?

Try resetting the camera defaults.

So you mean that pressing the ISO button and rotating the front wheel (to either direction) does not change it from auto ISO? Does the button work at all (the LCD should change immediately when you press it)? Or is the front wheel broken (does it work for other uses)?
