If you mean Canon MK3's then hit the Canon forum and search for focus issues.... Let's just say there are some variations on real and perceived focus issues depending on what hardware & firmware fixes have been applied.
The blue dot was on the boxes of new series cameras. Cameras of the first series presumably had the issue, whereas "blue dot" ones had supposedly been fixed in factory.
That clarifies it for me! Problem now is - has anybody out there bought a 'blue dot' Mk3 that appears to exhibit the same focusing problems as the older models?
I had a Mark 3 body from one of the first batches into the UK last year, it was returned a month later, rubbish. The 2nd body was also rubbish and eventually got exchanged by Canon for a new blue dot (factory production model) and it works very well. I regularly shoot with a couple of folks who also have blue dot or later Mark 3 bodies and they are very pleased with the performance as well.
Jack, I am sure you would get more replies on the Canon forum, or maybe this has even been posted somewhere (I think the Canon board gets more traffic than this one). Sorry, I cannot tell you precisely whether the answer you are looking for has been posted already or not, since I am not the kind of guy who may buy a 1D mk3 some day.
