There are rarely any of the pro lenses for sale in the buy and sell or other website classifieds and several stores are out of stock.

They're in high demand but Fred Miranda is heavier on the Canon end. I'd try Nikonians or Nikoncafe if you're looking for all Nikon stuff. They're out there if you look

I saw a great deal on a 24-70 today in the B/S.

Yes. But that's the same with Canon too. I've heard it'll cool down after the Olympics, because people won't be stocking up on the big guns.

Things should start to pick soon. But if you want it, you'll find it. There's more than one store stocking lenses.

I'm ready to buy a new Nikon 200mm F/2 lens and they have been out of stock for a few months especially at B&H.

I have thought about buying used but since they hold their value very well if I am going to pay close to the new price I might as well get "new" vs used even if it's in great condition.

I'm thinking things will cool down and there will be a lot for sale especially used in the next month or so.

According to pricegrabber, tristate has them in stock for just below $4k shipped. I have used tristate several times and have been satisfied with them.

The B&H web site has a little form that you can fill out to be notified when something is in stock.

I have used it several times with success.
