You're going to have a tougher time getting responses to pictures of male models, but I'll do my best to get the ball rolling. However, that off-kilter pole just to his side throws off the balance of the entire photo for me.
1 - My favorite shot of James himself because it shows some depth of personality and he engages with his eyes. The rest he looks like blank stone with a tight jaw.
2 - Actually makes the pole look like it was included on purpose, not accidentally. Good image, but nothing stands out.
3 - My favorite in terms of composition, posing (i.e. everything YOU did) etc but his blank stare kills it for me.
4 - Looks like a bug is due to fly into his mouth.
5 - Really like this one as well, but your model clearly needs to work on the variety of his facial expressions.
