p.1 #5 · which f-15 is better? photobucket vs.flickr
The flickr image is apparently your image that you posted at that site. It has the Canon color space sRGB v1.31 and a file size of 261309 bytes.
The Photobucket image has been compressed to 39977 bytes and has the color space sRGB IE61966. There are clear JPEG compression artifacts visible around the edges of the plane.
Here is the difference between the two files in CS3:
Did you upload identical files at 1024x682 pixels to both sites, or did you upload a larger file and let the sites downsize it for display? Are you sure that you uploaded identical photos to both sites? Is there a way to select the viewable image quality at photobucket?
PS:
Additionally the flickr image is stripped of EXIF and the photobucket image has EXIF embedded showing that the image was processed in "Digital Photo Professional".
If you did not upload identical files to the sites be prepared for a lawsuit from Photobucket.

Great shot - and highly interesting topic! I've been using Flickr for a couple years and never tried anywhere else. I'm almost always happy with the way my stuff looks when it's linked here (when the shot is decent to begin with), and would never have thought that another site would be different.

You have to make sure that the photo site is not resizing or changing the image in any way in the upload. I used to edit my photographs at a base size and have flickr resize them to 800 on the longest end, until I found lots of compression artifacts due to this. I now batch process everything using a longest end action with Photoshop, in order to resize to 800px for posting here.
