p.1 #1 · Sigma SD14 rear element hits IR filter?

Would a Sigma SD14 owner help me out on this one? When adapting lenses to a 5D, people keep on trying to see if the rear element would hit the mirror. For the Sigma SD14, we will instead worry about whether the rear element would hit the IR filter. So how deep is the IR filter as measured from the mount flange? Thanks.

I get 7mm to the plastic around the IR cut filter maybe another .5mm to the glass itself.

Hi,
I have a SD14 that I have converted to EOS mount. I was wondering if the 6.9- 7 mm depth of the IR filter would be a problem with EOS converted Contax N lenses. The IR filter lies below the level of the metal mount, it's on about the same plane as the electrical contacts on the lens. Do any of the Contax N / EOS lenses ever protrude as far as the EOS electrical contacts?

Of the 9 lenses in the N-mount line-up, only 2 protrude past the metal mount flange of the EOS mount and they are 24-85 and 50/1.4, but they protrude far less than the electrical contacts. All the other 7 stay within the metal mount flange.

There is a plastic tab on the 17-35 that you may need to file down further.
