Is anyone really using canons wireless technology for a wedding? And if so how is it working for you, is it to much trouble, or does it make your job easier, and or is it a selling point to your clients.

I thought about this too. It saves to the CF and transmits the photo after you take it. The marketing angle would be that you immediately have a backup as you shoot.

Don't really see it as a plus for wedding work. I can think of many events, etc. where it would be a nice feature, however!

Perhaps for sports shooters at tourneys, this feature would be useful. Would eliminate the need for runners, and view stations would be up and running. Sports shots in these scenarios are typically unprocessed (no crops, tilt fixes or WB adjustments)-- SOOC.

In the context of a wedding, I don't see much benefit for this, other than possibly having an assistant collecting the images and cooking up a quickie slideshow for the reception of the getting ready / ceremony shots... but I've seen photographers do this without the wireless bits.

Disagree.... there is value in wireless. We have used the the wifi on our Mark IIIs to send certain pictures back to a PC running a projector running slide show software... Bride and Groom love it.

I think it truly boils down to a money thing...

Cost of the Wireless unit?
Cost of someone to sit there to check errors?
Cost when it messes up?

I'm not in any capacity to even remotely think about going this route but it's an interesting thought. I would wonder about the error rates over wireless and how much error correction is built in. Also, how would that unit effect your buffer for bursts?

Sounds like if it works though, it can be nerdy cool
