Since assignment topics usually are not announced unitl the Thursday after the deadline, are photographs taken seven days prior to the new dealine elilgible?
i.e. this week's assignment should have a date range of 6/25/08 to 7/1/08. If I have serentipitoulsy taken a photograph that fits the topic on 6/25/08, even though the topic was not announced until 6/27, is it eligible? Or, should I put my setup back together and re-shoot?

Not a stupid question at all. But I would say that you didn't shoot the assignment. IMHO I think that part of the spirit of the Weekly Assignment is that you improve at shooting something predetermined and not just fishing through your weeks' shots for something that "fits the theme."

This will all be automated along with EXIF, image size checking, etc... I am working on the WA/MA code and once it's finished, entries will not be able to be posted outside the assignment deadline.
A list of new features will also be added. I should make an announcement soon.
