I've read that the older non VR AF-S 18-55mm is excellent at IR. Has anyone tried the newer VR version? The optical formulae is different so i'am wondering if the dreaded IR hotspot will be there with this lens.
something tells me it'll be the same. Just turn off the VR when using it on IR. IMO, for $65, can't beat the old 18-55 for IR. @18mm it's primo, but lately my favorite lens on IR is the 16 fish.
