p.1 #1 · Dutch photographers website

To all pro FM ers,

I'm a dutch based photographer setting up my new business after a 15 year partnership went sour
due to fraud on behalf of my former business partner. The lawyers will have to sort out the mess.

I have set up a new website and I am kindly requesting your input. I realize that the content is mostly in dutch, so most of you can't read it. But I would appreciate any comments regarding the look and feel in general. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the issues. Must be a real pain in all senses of the word...

As to the site, you've got some beautiful images there! The site looks well built but I'm only going to respond with my initial feelings. In one word, I felt that it was a little "busy", but I like very clean sites so that's only one opinion and you may like more on each page.

The colors work (how can gray/black not work?) and the scroll down to see the images is interesting, but I'm not sure about it yet. I'm also not sure I like the eyes on every page (you should touch them up and remove the blood vessels though). If you're looking at an image in the first slot, do you want it competing with the eyes?

I also realize that English is probably not your first lanuage, but the paragraph

"Image-Expeditions is your premier source for tailor-made photography-expeditions, digital-workflow and printing workshops in unique locations worldwide and in the studio. We also offer portrait photography. Have a unique portrait made of yourself or your children. In the studio or on location, everything is possible. Call for more information."

could use a rewrite. Just a suggestion, as it too can be understood. but you can definitely tighten it up and remove the redundancies..

Not trying to be negative as I know this is a lot of work. Good luck in the new business.

Hi Erik, my thoughts pretty much echo James'. Your photographs are excellent, but the site itself looks too "busy", I'd also suggest using some gradients instead of flat colours in your side-bar (the flat shades of grey look a little rough).

Hope that helps.

Thank's Mark and James,

I made some edits in my english text. ( Must hire a professional writer...)
In addition I also made the 'eye's" B/W and cleaned them up a little, so they are less dominant.
Thanks for your advice and time to respond.

Erik.
