p.1 #1 · Swans with the CHAD BAG !!

OK there seems to be a little confusion on "The Chad Bag"

History:
DaveinLA uses his car as a blind to photograph his little green friends
Chad started calling a vehicle used to photograph Wildlife a Dave Blind
DaveinLA uses a Ergo Rest Pod in his Dave Blind and the term using
a Dave Pod was born........

Recently, on my Bobcat Post, Chad ( 7 4Chevelle454) posted a picture
of a bean bag he uses from his vehicle. Dave and I decided to give it a whirl.
In the middle of the night, unknown reason, the term CHAD BAG entered my brain.
Thus the introduction of the CHAD BAG by Dave and I.

If you aren't a frequent visitor of the wildlife forum > Or you've been away for a bit here is
a link to the CHAD BAG !!!!

CHAD BAG LINK CLICK HERE

I was able to use my chad bag for the first time yesterday and must say I really like it.
I wasn't able to use it from my vehicle because the area I went to was a walk through area vs drive through. However, I was able to use the CHAD BAG to take some low angle shots. This thing works great for supporting your lens while laying on the ground. It raises the camera off the ground enough to make for very comfortable shooting and provides excellent support !! I always hated taking low angle shots because supporting the lens at this angle is a PITA.

Thanks to Chad and Dave >> I love my Chad Bag something just sounds terribly wrong with that

I believe these to be (CORRECTED MUTE SWAN) and a First for me !! Mark another off my list please.......... Thanks for the correct ID

Could you repeat that first part again, I wasn't paying attention

I am sooo glad you are enjoying your 'chad bag' are you a distributor for them yet Proper name I believe for the swan is the Mute Swan, and you have wonderfully captured these, that low angle support must be the trick My favorite is the stilt, that is a nice one Anthony............Good stuff my friend!

Thanks to your guys, my Chad Bag is on order, though it won't arrive in time for my trip to England at the end of the week.

Your Mute Swans are wonderful, and of course the little fluffy things are heart meltingly sweet.

I still don't get it But you evidently love it!!

I plan on ordering one but it's use seems somewhat limited, I'm not hiking around with 12 pounds of beans! But for shooting from the car, a place that a bushhawk gets a bit cumbersome it sounds great. Anyway....

These shots are terrific, nice and sharp. It doesn't look like you are suffering from "bag shake" or other horrific ills! 1,6 and 7 show wonderful details. Nice job on the whites! Big thumbs up there.

Nice work Anthony.

Rob Tillyer,

I think that is a mute swan Anthony. Beauty pictures. Really like the Stilt

Thanks Rob, I kept looking in my bird field guide > I knew there was another type of swan but it's not in my book !! My guide only has the Tundra and Trumpeter for some reason. After looking up Mute Swan on the internet I must agree. My ID was wrong and thanks fort he correct one.

I appreciate the help and comment Rob

You may receive your bag before you leave. I received mine in two days. They ship from Texas and I'm in Northern California > So you have a good shot at getting it before you leave. I PM'd you this info just in case you don't recheck this thread/post.
Thanks for the kind comment regarding my pics too

Hey Tim. For me it ads a lot of stability and support with low angle shots. I haven't used it in the Truck yet. BUT I can see where it gives you a very stable support while shooting from the window > Plus the freedom to move it freely if you need to move it off the support for a quick take off or flight shot. I was carrying my CF Tripod with the Mark III and 500 IS over my right shoulder and the Chad Bag in my left hand while walking around. Seemed like a lot a few times >> But it was worth it for me... I LIKE IT
Thanks for the comments and glad you liked em buddy !!

Thanks Lil. This is my first time photographing the Mute Swan ( I thought it was a trumpeter) so even though I had the wrong ID it's still a first.
Thanks for the comment and hope you get to some swans soon

Now, I'm getting a bit confused here. If I understood right DaveinLa was in Chad's blind, that is an old 7 4 Chevy. Then Chad went to rest in a Pod and Dave went to sleep in Chad's bag. I wonder, what this has to do with taking pictures
Great job, Anthony! Super exposure of those white feathers. Color and detail are very good as well, and the low angles really make the shots.

Nice pictures Anthony. After seeing Lou’s advice I asked my wife to stitch a “Chad Bag”. Now she wants to visit Lou’s wife to learn how to make a “Chad Bag”. I calculated the cost of my bag. It sums up to $2505 [Airfare($2000)+ expenses ($500)+ material cost ($5)].

Anthony I was waiting for your "review" man! Looks great indeed and the shots you got prove it! So did you filled it w beans after all

Thanks Nello for the wonderful comment. I filled mine with Tacos so I can have a snack when I get hungry It's a bit smushy and you have to make sure you don't use tacos that are to greasy............. I have to put it in a plastic bag or grease drips all over my truck Crap I should have put the tacos in a plastic bag and THEN put that in the Chad Bag............... Ughhh Sometimes I don't really think things through

Nah I used Pinto beans...........

heliophilicWI,

Maybe pick a non invasive species to photograph next time? I do like the Black-necked Stilt. I love how the red appears on its leg.

Non Invasive Species ? Well considering the only REAL INVASIVE SPECIES is mankind I don't think I picked one. Nature was doing pretty darn well until we came along. We over breed to the point of absurdity and pollute everything we touch.......... Don't get me wrong, I'm not a tree hugger. But I appreciate wildlife more than I appreciate what mankind is doing to the world.

But that's a whole different topic isn't it. Glad you liked the Stilts

Anthony
