Kitehog Offline Image Upload: On p.1 #1 · GBH, Northern Flicker and BIrd ID Help Went to the lake the other day to try and find the Kingfishers nest and ran across this GBH 1 2 3 4 As I was walking along the bank this Northern Flicker flew up out of the grass and settled in a tree in front of me. This is the first time I have seen one in the wild 1 2 Finally I posted this picture before and thought it was an Eastern Phoebe but now Im not sure. Can anyone help me with the ID? I thought it was a phoebe but the top of the head in the first shot made me doubt myself as it looks somewhat tufted. IT may have been the wind on the feathers or the bird giving me a dirty look! That second of the heron scratching, I have a shot of one doing the same thing but my angle sucked, you nailed it.
