p.1 #1 · Baseball Poster C&C

Long time lurker, first time poster...First would like to thank everyone that posts here, nothing but great info. If I can get even 10% of the quality posted here I'm feeling really good

Anyway, I've been shooting my son's LL baseball team and I'm going to do a poster/collage for each player at the end of the season. I'm working on a template and would love to hear any C&C on the poster. Here is what I have so far:

Awesome poster, nothing to C&C and to get a thumbs up from James who does amazing posters his self you know you've got it good w/ this poster.

Did you make the logo yourself or did you get it from the league would love to know how you guys make or get the logos.

Again, awesome layout, images, font choices, and logo to boot. I'd be proud to put my name to that poster.

Nice layout, great photos picked. Only nit... I'd like to see a ball in glove, or somewhat en route and visible in the main image.

I think it is a great poster, the film strip is one of the cleanest I've seen, did you make the film strip template yourself??

Thanks..the logo is a SD Padres logo and I modified it and put our league name and division.

Nice layout, great photos picked. Only nit... I'd like to see a ball in glove, or somewhat en route and visible in the main image.

Thanks..I'm working on it. It's half way through the season so I should be able to get at least one

It is a great filmstrip, but no I didn't make it, I only added a little drop shadow and bevel to it...I think there is a link to it on FM..if not I've uploaded it here:

Thanks again!!

You know, as a bit of an aside, it's crazy to think that this kid will have a poster made for him with pictures of him in a film strip...and odds are he will have never really seen a picture of himself taken by anyone actually using film ('cept maybe gran'ma).

However, there's certainly a far greater sense of appeal to using the strip than putting him in boxes that look like CF or SD card...

BTW, great first effort - if I had a nitpick it would be with the 'extra' bits of frame at the top and bottom of your strip. Since they are of bits of feet and helmet against bright green and the rest of the posters is subdued blues and infield for the most part, I find myself unwillingly drawn to those 'extra' bits. Maybe some feet on the infield and a helmet against something less vibrant?

Or maybe it's just me...

Thanks for the input and I do see what you mean...I'll play with it and lower the saturation on those and see if that helps.

Thanks Rob...the font is Marydale, but I skewed it to the right so it would flow with the name.

I will agree with everyone and say great job.
It is nice and clean.
The only thing I am not to fond of is the film strip. Of course it looks great and all of us on here are photographers so it is appealing to us.
Its too bad that I can't think of a better way to add the other photos in and keep it a Baseball theme instead of the strip.

Charles, I'd say very good look and feel to it.
Thanks for the link to the filmstrip, I was just needing one.

Great job!

Thanks, Bob
