Hi there
will the SCA 3102 M3 work with any SCA flash on a 5D?

I have a Metz 54 and an Osram VS 300, I rarely ever used them without the TTL. Now I wonder if I could just buy the new shoe to get TTL metering

The M3 with a Metz 54 should work fine on your 5D.

You can always call Bogen (U.S. distributor for Metz) to double check.
