Had a few opportunities with this raptor while driving through the refuge on my way to visit my mom---I need to come back and spend some more time----these were just drive-by's----thanks for viewing!

Nice catch Jim. And got it on a pole too. What are they feeding on now or while you were there ? I would assume there are still migrating north birds in and out of the place. Just wondering what you saw for the most part. When I was there it was Tundra Swans / Canadians / Snow Geese / White Fronted Geese were the main birds (Bald eagle food source) there.
Hello anthony---looked like a duck to me---but there were a huge number of feathered carcasses on the dike road from past encounters with either eagles or coyotes or ?
