p.1 #1 · Changing of the seasons

A couple weeks back we recieved 10-12 inches of fresh snow. It was a great chance to get outside and take some photos. This little sapling was eagerly waiting for the changing of the seasons.

d70s 17-55mm f/2.8 all comments and critique greatly appreciated

I like your idea on this, I wonder though if a lower angle would have worked better though. Right now it almost feels like the sapling is laying across the snow, rather then springing up through the snow.

Good texture in the snow and contrast in the shot...I like Jim's idea but I've had enough of laying in snow. Bring on spring.

That's my excuse too haha. Thanks for the input on this. It's a pretty simple shot, and it's the details that will make it or break it.

I think what bugs me most about this is the sapling's shadow....if it were laying across the snow on the left of the branch into the bigger part of the snowy area, instead of encroaching on the border, it would work better at centralizing my gaze, as well as possibly suggesting some depth so Jim wouldn't think the sapling was laying down in the snow... Just my opinion...
