A march fly (St Mark's fly- Bibio sp). First time I've ever seen one of these in March

Brian, this appears to be a somewhat agressive looking fly. Like Michael says, got a little scorpion in him. A strange tiny head in proportion to the body too. Nice shots.

Think this is only about the third one of these I've ever seen although the books seem to imply they go around in swarms.
