p.1 #1 · Imabari Castle

Imabari Castle (今治城, imabarijō?) is a Japanese castle in Imabari, Ehime, Japan. This castle is well-known as one of the three 'Mizujiro', literally 'Castles in the sea' in Japan.
This castle was constructed by Todo Takatora, who is known as a daimyo who had good knowledge and techniques to build castles from 1602 to 1604 as his own castle.

c&c always appreciated.

Stan, the first one is great, but the second one is a little too warm for me, unless that is what you were going for. Great captures, better than I could have done, Kyle

While the first one is a great shot of the current castle, the second brings to mind what an antique photo would look like. Artistically I prefer the second.

I think the colors on the first are a little flat, and the sepia is a little strong on the second. As far as composition though I like them.

I like the pics, but could you have used a split neutral density filter and a polarizer? maybe you did, but seems like it would work better if the sky was more saturated for more contrast.

hello bclarke4,

agree with your comment that the sky needs more saturation to get more contrast.

thanks,
stan

Interesting... those walls bear the trademark of changes to fortification that came about as a result of the cannon.

howdy Grognard,

here is another picture, almost against the sun on the left side, but showing more details of the castle's middle & upper structure.
