i have built together a web page for presenting myself in the net (i am a photo student). i dīlike to know what you like and what you donīt like about it. all comments are welcome. btw this is my first page ever!
good design -- what flash program are you using? one gripe i have is the titles. you have one called 'stills' when in fact all of the images are stills. needs better categorization.
I think that you've done an excellent job. It is clean and easy to navigate. Best yet is that it fits on my screen as a single page, none of that annoying, unnecessary scrolling to see more. Screen load wasn't too bad considering it's flash galleries.
Looks nice! Too slow for me, though. I really think you need to get someones attention in seconds or they're likely to move on. Then you have to keep it!!
I like the pictures!!! They are modern and young in style! Definitely you have a differentiation.
Now for the website:
1. Loading is SLOW man! (and I browse through a lot of phtographers' websites). Your JPEGs too large? Try to stay below 150Kb. (I use 150Kb max, and flash, as well as content management, and loading is breezy.) Use Photoshop's "Save for Web" function. It's very2 good. Depending on the photograph, I use anywhere from 65% (for simpler photos) to 80% (for detail heavy photos) quality.
If the JPEG is already below 150Kb, then try to find a faster hosting.
2. The main picture -- the guy in close up -- is a love it or hate it picture. I suggest try something that's still cool, but more "mainstream", so that Art Buyers won't close the browser at the first sight.
