p.1 #1 · Printing a Section of an Image | |
I normally will print just a section of a 16x24 image on a 4x6 card for evaluation (using CS2) and I just leave the "scale to fit" unchecked and I have a 4x6 crop of the actual print size. Well, I don't have 4x6 stock for the paper type I am using this time, all I have is 8 1/2 x 11 and 16x24 paper, and I don't want to print an 8 1/2 x 11 test crop. So my question is - is there a way to print a small portion of an image on a larger piece of paper? So, how can I print a 4x6 crop of the 16x24 image but print the crop on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper? I know I can actually crop out a section with the crop tool, but if I do that, what percentage should I be viewing when I take that crop? I don't believe 100% is correct? I have read that 50% approximates the actual print, but I am not sure.
My reason for this is to save on ink and paper. This way I could use the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet to print crops from 2 images, and I save on ink.
Thanks for any input on this. Let me know if I have not explained my situation adequately.
