I had a really great idea, that was next to impossible to stage and shoot. Ever tried to land (much less fly) a mini helicopter between five lit tea lights in darkness Oh and you have to make sure you fly in front of the camera before landing(crashing) and trying not to set the model or your apartment on fire.

Let's just say, it can't be done So I cheated and tied the copter to fishing line to keep it at least within the camera frame.

Not as brave a some of you, I needed to conceptualize wind without going outside. It was 25 below F with 50 mph wind gusts Saturday. Sunday was nicer, only 15 below with a 20 mph breeze.

C&C welcome.
Chad

Great idea and well done . It was only a measly 18 below here when I did my shot but your idea worked out fine to me. Norm

Hi Chad,

You did a great job with the scene and I love the motion blur on the propellers. Another great shot. You have managed to create a great exposure that simulate dusk, IMO. Good luck this week.

The elaborated setup really paid off with an excellently composed picture Chad, congratulations!
You’ve captured the propeller’s blade movement with just the right motion effect, and the same goes for the candle flames being blown away in different directions…

I hope your temperatures have warmed up a bit. Some pretty brutal weather.
Your shot is great. I agree with the comments on the blade blur and candle flames being tossed about! Nice work and set up!

Thanks guys for all the great comments. My imagination is trying very hard to compete with the talent you all show with your cameras. But I'm learning alot and having fun.

Best regards,
Chad
