Here are a few shots done with high contrast in highlights, midtones and shadows. I find that you either like this style or not. I prefer to mix it up once in a while. Only about 20% of my images seem to work with this effect.

Last one thanks for looking.

Heck, I personally like the treatment. It's impact is strongest on the first image IMHO. On that image I would have liked to seen it cropped so I don't see the people in the background. There presence distracted me a bit. Maybe its just me though.

these look very cool.

What exactly were you doing in PP? Just high contrast but splitting it amongst the highlights/midtones/shadows?

Nice shots.

How do you get the cartoonish look ? I've done a few shots in photomatrix but haven't achieved that effect.

Thanks for the comments, I've used multiple layers, blend modes and opacities coupled Nik filters and adjustment layers.

That is REALLY cool...very cartoonish looking. If you wouldn't mind sharing your technique in greater detail that would be great...if not, I'll poke at it long enough and will figure it out.

Pretty cool! The guy playing the guitar looks like Ben Rothlisberger (of the Pitt Steelers)

looks like HDR from here. I think the effect is over used across the board. many of the images have weird silhouetting or ghosting, there is a ton of unattractive noise/grain all over, and skin tones + clothing also look grainy/distorted. the biker shot is cool for me until I get to the buildings at the bottom of the frame, and the industrial interior looks good as well with all of the details being exposed more evenly...but in areas of smoothness it is questionable...perhaps you could squelch more of the shadow areas and negate some of that effect. in my opinion (as someone who has fooled with HDR and these types of tone compensation techniques extensively) to get a usable aesthetic out of this you would need to turn down the effect more than 50-60%.

Don, excellent job in post-processing. I agree that you can't use this technique on every shot, but all of the shots here, are great.

Excellent, stunning effect.
I have seen something similar done with LucisArt, but I like these creations better..
