p.1 #1 · My lunch time crap

Lunch was good to me today. Came across my first Northern Harrier and a Kingfisher posed for me while flying. He actually stopped in mid air and flew for about a minute. It was great. Hope you enjoy,

1. Northern Harrier. Heavely cropped but hey my first.

Thanks, Steve. This place is just 2 miles from where I work so not such a big deal. A couple of salt water lakes and on the marsh so prime for some good wildlife

Thanks, Harsha. I've been working very hard at getting some decent Kingfisher in flight shots and I think these are OK.

Nice shots, Keith. Beautiful pose on the Warbler and I really love the Kingfisher. I live in farm country. The best I could do over lunch is some nice wheat fields. All of my friends are into landscapes, but I have a thing for birds. I think I'm living in the wrong place.

Please keep the lunch break posts coming. Would love to see more of the Kingfisher.

Thanks, Dave. Farm country huh? Try finding a lake in your area and stalk there for some wildlife.

No sun today so didn't get a chance to get out. Rains in the forecast for Thursday. Hopefully Friday will be better.

I have had some limited luck at a man made resevoir about 1 1/2 hours from where I live, though I have heard, recently, about a natural lake a few hours away where there is a wildlife preserve and I am dying to get there this weekend. My wife and I traveled a few hours south to a park where I was told that I might find some owls, but we had no luck finding their roost. (Had some fun shooting some elk and bison on a small preserve that was there, though). Just wish I lived closer to some of the good watering holes. If I were into fields of wheat, though, I would have it made!

Keep those Kingfisher's coming, Keith. I need to feed the cravings!
