Had a great time even though the sun was not cooperating one bit,.. but I think I pulled of a few good shots,… More light and more time would have certainly helped..
A really great day altogether,.. even though the sun never showed up,.. definitely will be heading back for a second run on this location with better lighting.

I think you are correct that the one image is a muskrat. I really like the compostion on your photo with the pond and the swans. Well done!!
Looks like you had a very productive day indeed! Love that Wren shot and super job on the raptors. We don't get them anywhere as cooperative around here.
Alex, you have some great images here--- I cannot believe how close you can get to the hawks---and--a muscrat! Wow! too cool!
I have got to get down there, and soon!
Thanks for posting these!
Thank you, oh and BTW, iv been corrected on another forum, the Muskrat is most likely a Nutria.

Nice shots Alex. You're right on the RoughLegged, there have bee a couple of them frequenting the flat area along the last drive. I'm still trying to get one in flight. The Redtails are numerous too. There is also some Harriers which aren't as cooperative but just as beautiful. I've seen muskrats once and otters many times. The other critter that is in an abundance is the nutria. The nutria looks alot like your muskrat. It would help me if someone could point out the difference. Great shots! Next time you're in the neighborhood let me know.
Very nice series, Alex. Love the raptors, but all look good.
It looks like a Nutria except the head - a bit elongated for a Nutria but I'm no expert. Nice work
Very nice and clean images, Alex. You have again demonstrated that the 100-400 is a vey capable lens when it is in capable hands. My personal favorite is image #1, which is so painterly like with the soft pastel background. Love the pose of the little bird too.
Alex, Nice work, Ridgfield is a great place witht he most friendly hawk anywhere. Here is an image of the same guy I took last spring on the same post. Bruce
