Spent all day at Bolsa Chica today with a lot of the regular shooters and some new ones with their Xmas presents?
The raptors were the main attraction today.
This juvenile Osprey got a lot of attention. He had a real nice cocoa brown coloring that I've never seen before to go with the traditional dark brown feathers.

#6 Here's the reaction that you get when you answer the Kestrel version of the question "Does this dress make my butt look big?". After all, the palm fronds are supposed to be hiding those tail feathers! (Supposed to blend in so that you can't even tell that they're there. But, it makes the body look that much rounder........ Ooops! Did I just say that out loud?)
Mr. Zoom, this BUD's for you (even if Kestrels are so last year).
Also spotted Red-shouldered Hawk, White-tailed Kite, and Northern Harrier but they were too far out or too late in the evening for presentable shots.

Kestrels really are "so last year" but you did a pretty good job of catching up. There were three WTKs, 2 RTHs and a pair of RSHs out at SJWS yesterday, along with a plethora of Cedar Waxwings, but glad you had fun with your Kestrels
