p.1 #1 · #275: The Future of our Obsession

What can i say but thankyou to everyone for their input.
I have decided to post a new version based on the first post as i felt it was truer to the idea i wanted to convey. I have however totally started from scratch again with different images.
The biggest challenge was taking a picture of my own eye, sixty three shots later i got it right ! Is this obsessive !!

Very cool idea. I like it a lot. Only thing is the aperture blades being slightly off-center was just a bit distracting for me. Great image overall.

Any chance of the whole eye rather than trimming off the edges or a tighter crop with no lashes.

Great shot, fantastic colour.

Idea to fix the centering and lashes.

in photoshop Tweek th ebottom half of the image without hte text overlay until you get the shuttle layer centered left to right and the amount of white you wish then select the bottom half exactly in the cented of your desired layout and then create a mirror image and then add a littl over lay with some blurringto hide the fact of the areas mettign and then add the text overlay.

Agree with Adam.

Also, I'd suggest making the aperture bladed and surrounding black larger in the eye than it is now.

I like this idea very much. Obviously a shot created in PP, so you might as well spend the needed time getting it perfect. But I like it as it stands now.

I think I prefer the one with the lids showing. The "new" one is much less personal and doesn't fit in as well with the WA.

I like the original one better because of the detail with the eye enhancing the aperture itself. Both are good however. Nice work with the PS.

Sorry Adam I tried the full crop, got rid of the lids and lashes. The image just lost its impact, I showed it to people at home and they even asked what it was. So i took your second piece of advice and went for a crop just including the lashes and lid. Hope you approve.

I know you have gone back and forth about using the whole eye or not. I like the whole eye shot but would like to see a little more of the top part of the lid. It just seems cut off to me without seeing the top of the eye lash in the center. Ok, with that said the shot is great. It pulls you in to look closer. Very well done. Good Luck.

I think you may be right. Although i ve used photoshop for a while i have only just got a digital camera. My workflow( i believe this is the buzz word) is dreadful. I take a picture and work on it, rarely saving along the way. This is something i need to work on. So im afraid the crop will have to stay. Sorry Thankyou for looking and take care
