The site that was hosting my website (mybusinessname.com) went out of busniess. My understanding is that I still own my website name but I now need someone to host my site. I had both a professional and a "friends & family" side to my site. I have no idea how to get set up with another host while still using my website name. Any helping on this subject will be deeply appreciated!
Any hosting company will help you get rolling. Essentially you need to purchase a hosting plan, and then from wherever your domain name is registered you need to adjust the name servers on the domain name to point to the new hosting company. Your hosting company should be pretty helpful at making this happen since they're the ones getting the new business.
Just a heads up. I've been using Lunarpages for sometime now and I highly recommend them. Of course there's always going to be someone who isn't happy for whatever reason (hey you can't please everyone), but I happen to be in the IT field and I've got 2 accounts with them.
