p.1 #1 · #274: I'd rather be fishin'?

With temperatures in the teens, a constant onslaught of sleet and wet snow, and winds from the east at 20+ mph, this dedicated fisherman still deftly handled four rods and landed several fish during a session I thought better suited for summer.--Frank

Love the lines created by the bridge , far shoreline, seawall, ans his rods. Wow, what a fantastic conversion - the falling snow is captured very well. Fishing under thses conditions would definitley be out of place for me! -amy

This is exquisite Frank. I really love it. Great B&W; your subject, tonal range, contrast, detail, composition is wonderful. Sure to be a finalist.

I like it. The crossing lines of the fishing rods. The B&W tones highlighting the fisherman.
Initially I thought he was fishing opposite of the river

Hi Frank,

Beautiful shot. You have captured a great slice of everyday life. The composition is especially strong. I have to say, however, that as a kid from Northern Michigan who went fishing throughout the winter just cutting holes in the ice, it doesn't look that out of place to me, but a great shot nonetheless. Good luck this week,

Steve S.

Thank you, Steve. Yes, I knew the ice fisherman might comment that this is commonplace

Thank you, Carrol. I got a late start this week, and several of the ideas I had were taken and surpassed by more accomplished entrants. I appreciate your stopping by.--Frank

Frank,

Love this shot. I believe it one of my favorites. I think the composition is one of the best this week. Wonderful tones and the B & W conversion is just perfect.
